Countdown
At present, the editors have approved 259 of 406 hymns and songs recommended to them by the Text and Tune Committee. This DOES NOT mean that they have rejected the other 147. It DOES mean that have rejected a few, that they have placed others on a “second tier” list, and that there are many items they have not evaluated yet. They meet again March 2-3 in Macon. Admittedly, some of the 259 may not survive the squeeze of pagination and the glut of hymns on certain themes.
