Welcome

The Bible tells us much about God – that God is love and is living, that God is creating and forgiving.  However, the single word that may best characterize God is grace.  God graces humankind with far more blessing than we deserve and far less condemnation than we deserve.

Martin Luther said that next to the Bible, the most important book of worship is the hymnal.  Much of one's theology is shaped by the hymns [worship songs] one sings. Celebrating Grace is a new hymnal for worship that honors God and continues Baptist theology and tradition of meaningful congregational singing.  Our goal is to compile a collection of timeless hymns and new expressions of Christian faith that glorify God who is both changeless and ever changing. 

Celebrating Grace is a work in progress and we invite your participation.  If you have a hymn or two to suggest for our consideration, please share them with us.

On a personal note, Christian song has been a part of my entire life and for nearly forty years, it has been my joy to plan and lead congregational worship – thirty of those at First Baptist Church, Nashville, Tennessee. To be a part of this project is both exciting and energizing to me. I am looking forward to the journey ahead and I hope you will join us.
