Portfolio Resource Guide

As of December 31, 2020, Adobe discontinued support for its Flash Player software. Beginning January 12, 2021, Adobe is blocking Flash content from running existing Flash Player software. What does this mean for Growing in Grace users? It means curriculum resources built using the Adobe PDF Portfolio system will no longer be accessible using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

For those of you using our “Keep on Singing” digital curriculum or any of our “Hymn Discovery”, “Let All the Children Sing!”, “We Can Sing!”, or “Share the Good News!” materials, you will be able to access resource materials using Adobe Acrobat Reader as you always have. The PDFs included in both the digital download versions and on the enhanced CD included with printed books will still operate without interruption from this change in available software.

For those of you using any of the first eight themes of our comprehensive Growing in Grace Children’s Music Curriculum for Preschool, Younger Children, or Older Children, you will likely encounter obstacles when opening the curriculum portfolios. The same issue will occur for some of you using our Step by Step: Tools, Tips & Templates curriculum companions and “Unplugged: #DaretoDisconnect” Musical. However, there is a way to access your materials despite the discontinuation of Adobe Flash Player.

To access PDF portfolio materials, you will need to download a different PDF reader software. NOTE: This does NOT necessitate removing Adobe Acrobat Reader from your computer. At this time, we are recommending Foxit Reader, a free download, to open PDF portfolio files. To download Foxit Reader, please visit: https://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf-reader/
