Verse 3 is the crown jewel of this setting with its lovely harmonies and chromatics. The Gloria begins with women, divisi, adding tenor, then bass, creating lovely textural change. The final verse adds the congregation if desired and is topped by a descant for high voices, with some very high optional notes, allowing those special voices a rare opportunity to shine.
