In this breathtakingly beautiful setting of the Passion Chorale, Michael Cox provides a haunting accompaniment which "dramatizes" the ancient text. Much of the anthem is in unison with lovely two-part writing leading into the fullness of a four-part, soaring final stanza. A perfect fit for Lent or Communion, this setting becomes a musical depiction of the Savior's sacrifice and our glorious response as we exclaim "let me never outlive my love to Thee." Extraordinary!
